2014 Olivier Bernstein Chambertin Grand Cru (Case of 6 bottles in OWC)
$4,800
Noticeable but discreet wood easily allows the fresh, ripe and reserved nose of red currant, sauvage, cassis and warm earth aromas to express themselves with clarity. The concentrated, powerful and broad-shouldered mineral-driven flavors possess excellent mid-palate density that buffers the very firm tannic spine on the austere, serious and impeccably well-balanced finish. I very much admire the sleek and unusually fine mouth feel in the context of the typical Chambertin but sleek or not be aware that this beauty is going to require extended cellaring. 93-96 points, Burghound
