2000 Domaine Arnaud Ente, Meursault
$7,800
Arnaud Ente has created another set of stunning wines, he is very high on the quality of the 2000 vintage, calling it “linear, pure and fine with excellent acidity and a completely different character than 1999.” Yields were roughly the same though the basic character of the two vintages diverges between ripeness and acidity, with ’99 being riper and 2000 having more acid structure and a more classic personality.
This is quality similar to the Bourgogne but with wonderfully linear, direct and beautifully defined flavors that finish quite dry. The precision here is very impressive and this delivers plenty of Meursault character, especially on the nose plus excellent minerality. Lovely juice. 87-89 points, Burghound
