3 bottles of each of the following:

2018 Lapostolle “Cuveé Alexandre – Apalta Vineyard” Cabernet Sauvignon Colchagua Valley, South Africa

The blackcurrants and violets are impressive on the nose with hints of slate. Full-bodied, yet always refined and in check. Linear and tight. Black olives and blue fruit at the finish. 95 points James Suckling

2017 Powell & Son Barossa Valley Grenache Shiraz Mataro, Australia

The Barossa Valley Grenache Shiraz Mataro is intense in its perfumed aromas of cherry liqueur and blackberry compote, with notes of spice and anise. The palate is voluptuous and supple, with the Grenache component shining through. Flavours of dark fruits predominate with velvety tannins providing a backbone to carry the flavours through to the finish. 94 points Robert Parker (2015 vintage)

2018 Amisfield  Pinot Noir, Central Otago, New Zealand

This is a very spicy pinot with plenty of toasty-oak influence, across brambly red cherries and berries. The palate has a smooth, soft feel with plenty of soft, red-cherry and red-plum flavors and assertive oak spice. 91 points The Wine Front

2018 Long Meadow Ranch Farmstead Cabernet Sauvignon, Napa Valley, California

This is one of the most balanced Cabs I have tasted in a while from Napa Valley. Guys, throw your money at this wine if you dig that extremely balanced style without being kicked in the face by oak and vanilla. The fruit is focused, and the tannins are woven in. It’s young, and can age, but dammit it is singing now! 94 points, Vine Pair
