1995 Musigny, Grand Cru, Joseph Douhin

1995 Musigny, Grand Cru, Joseph Douhin

The attractively complex nose has now gone entirely secondary in character and there are even notes of sous-bois in evidence along with plenty of spice and dried flower elements. There is good richness and punch to the concentrated and powerful medium weight plus flavors that exhibit plenty of minerality on the still slightly tannic and slightly tough finish where a touch of dryness appears that is just enough to detract from the overall sense of balance. I have had this a number of times over the years (though only once since 2012) and it seems as though the dryness is slowly becoming more pronounced and as such I would suggest drinking this up over the next few years though I underscore that there is no rush.
